I met Casey, her bridesmaids and mom at the hotel for a few photos before going over to the Philip Merrill Environmental Center. The room was alive with excitement, stories of this past year, delicious pizza and the most vividly colored flowers.
Last year after meeting Casey and her mom, her mom began cancer treatments (chemo, surgery, etc). Her mom had told doctors that she had a wedding to attend, so do anything and everything that you can. And her mom was sitting there getting her make-up done, telling me the details of this past year. And then she paused and said, "Sara, but now I'm cancer-free." Levels of celebration going on here... it was all I could do to hold it together.
Arriving at the Philip Merrill Environmental Center for me is always just so amazing. It's a Green building sitting on the Chesapeake bay with a sandy beach, pier, long grasses, and plenty of greens, this photographer's dream. Casey and John's ceremony was touching and officiated by a long-time family pastor, so many beautiful connections at this wedding!
Delicious food from MISSION BBQ and one of my favorite deejays--Christopher Temple with C and J Entertainment made the reception so incredible! Congratulations Casey and John and thank you for choosing me to capture your amazing day!
